School Construction Benin II (Agadjaligbo).

In just three months of construction, a place of learning has been created in the community of Agadjaligbo: Together with strong partners, the Peter Krämer Foundation celebrated the opening of a new school building, complete with modern sanitary facilities.

This project is a prime example of successful cooperation: While our long-standing partner in Benin, the NGO HUENSO, carried out the construction, the financing was once again secured through collaboration with the Hamburg-based BLOCK Foundation. The German Embassy in Cotonou also made a crucial contribution: School desks and chairs, crafted by local artisans, were financed with funds from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

A CELEBRATION OF COMMUNITY

The official handover became an unforgettable event. In a ceremony lasting several hours, Christian Krämer, Maximilian Hille (Executive Director of the BLOCK Foundation), and Mahuwéna Crespin Gohoungodji (Chairman of HUENSO) acknowledged the significance of the new building. The mayor, as well as representatives of the parents and the school's governing body, also spoke. However, the children were the heart of the celebration: with traditional songs and dances, the students transformed the day into a vibrant festival of joy.

SUSTAINABLE PROSPECTS FOR OVER 300 CHILDREN

With this opening, we are creating a safe and modern learning environment for more than 300 girls and boys. This building is far more than just bricks and mortar – it is a foundation for education from which future generations in Agadjaligbo will also benefit sustainably.
